bread housematerial experiment, 2025
This material experiment is another iteration of my grandmother’s home - made from bread and sugar.
The experiment drew from ruinology, as described by Jason Perry. Transferred onto my practice and its focus on agency and self-definition within a queer framework, ruinology can be seen not as a decomposition of information, but as additional information imposed onto the subject through its surroundings.

Whatever structure or data gets lost in ruination can be re-fabulated, thus recontextualising the whole subject. This idea leaves ample room for positive delf-definition through playful fabulation, while simultaneously accepting outside influences as paramount in identity-solidification.

The house is crafted after a rough 3D-model of my late grandmother’s house and was ruined and eaten.
